It is so good to meet you.

My name is Jordan Nunez, and I am a Creative, artist, mother, and wife. I’m self taught, which is something I take a lot of pride in. I’ve always believed LEARNING to be my super power. I like to think of myself as a cottage artist. I work out of my home, following my inspiration wherever it leads me. I’ve work as a full time artist for many years now. I started with ceramics, enjoyed some time metal-smithing and drawing, and now I find myself in love with fabrics. When I don’t have my hands busy in creative work, I can be found outside in my garden, curled up with a book, or on the hunt for the perfect vintage treasure.

My family consists of myself, my phenomenal husband Derek, and my two hilarious daughters. I have two pups and four chickens.

My greatest desire is to live a life well lived. I want to feel connected to each day; to my daughters growing too fast and the seasons that pass. I wish to look back and think to myself “what fun” ☺

My past work

The work I create goes through many stages of metamorphosis before finding itself mirrored in clay. My first step is to pull the sometimes nebulous concepts from my brain and bring them down to paper. Notebooks, receipts, envelopes, and napkins are all fair game. Next, I make a digital rendering of my jotted inspiration. This part allows me to play with composition and color in a way that gives me freedom to explore without compromising the integrity of my work. Once a final design (or two, or three) has shimmered to the surface, I take it to the clay. Even functional pieces such as my ceramic paint palettes go through these stages!

This begs the question- why do I go through all this preliminary work? It’s not just because I enjoy the creative play time. Clay is a resource- it comes from the earth. The extraction and production of clay is not without its environmental impact. It’s incredibly important to me that I steward this process with care, and only bring forth the designs in which I have carefully considered.
